The Noah Model

Updated on November 23, 2009

Our community-based organisations are networks of care

Noah’s 23 Community-based organisations provide support to approximately 6,000 vulnerable children. We can be found across KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng  .The community based organisations are not buildings, but synergistic networks of care. They are largely made up of elected community members, and are mentored and guided by Noah on a financial, organisational and skills training level.

iKusasalethu and Thuthuka Models

Noah has recognized and acknowledged the reality of working with communities rallying together to make a difference, and by working with them and supporting them, their efforts are catapulted into more sustainable solutions.
Noah works to support these natural coping systems by franchising community-based models of care for vulnerable children, through which motivated individuals from communities are mentored to setup their own community-based organizations. Each of these is a network of accountable and synergistic support, armed with the skills to care their respective community’s vulnerable children.
The Noah model is further segmented into two streams, namely iKususalethu and Thuthuka Programmes, which deal with Family Preservation and Capacity Building respectively.
